View Clearing

Three and a half centuries ago, Dutch explorers named it the “Schuylkill” meaning the “hidden river.”  Now we are working diligently to make our beautiful "Hidden River" more visible to all.

In the summer of 2006, volunteers from the Glenside neighborhood, Alvernia College, and the City of Reading teamed up to remove underbrush from Confluence Point Park to reveal the amazing views at that location.

In 2007 tree trimming crews from Met-Ed helped limb up the trees along the Schuylkill in the central Riverfront area south of Penn Street, including RACC and Riverfront Park.

This year, Giannasca Development Group and the City of Reading have partnered to clear underbrush obstructing the River view in Heritage Park at the foot of 6th Street.

We invite your company or organization to partner with us on clearing views to your favorite section of the Riverfront.  Contact Us today.
