Description:
The eastern shore of the Schuylkill River in Reading once again came alive with a
countywide celebration of culture and the arts the weekend of Sept. 23 to 25 with Riverfest 2005.
Riverfest 2005 featured live performances of local groups, arts, crafts, food, educational
displays, and children's activities.
Most importantly, it celebrated the Schuylkill River
and was centered in the very area the City of Reading first formed and where a 21st century
urban renaissance is occurring with the beginnings of RiverPlace at Reading.

We hoped you enjoyed the spectacular closing Fireworks display Saturday night on the Penn Street Bridge, brought to you by RiverPlace.

This year's RiverPlace exhibit tent at RiverFest featured information on the Master Plan and prototypes of the interactive exhibits planned for the proposed RiverPlace Children's Museum. Board members Judy Schwank and John Weidenhammer, and volunteers Charlie Jones and Carole Behling, man the tent near the RACC Library.
