Schuylkill River Bridge

Description:

The RACC Pedestrian Bridge –This former Pennsylvania Railroad bridge, built in 1917, which carries the Schuylkill River Trail over the Schuylkill River, will be improved with a raised boardwalk, lighting, and landscaping, and the top fencing removed, as shown in the illustration below.

Status:

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has offered a $1 million dollar grant for the completion of this project.  A separate additional grant will pay for the solar-powered lighting of the bridge.
