Description: Born in Georgia, USSR, George Papashvily arrived in New York City in 1922. In 1935 Papashvily moved to Bucks Count, PA. He began co-authoring best selling books with his wife and carving animal shapes directly into stone without models or preliminary sketches. He received numerous awards and exhibited across the United States. You will rarely see his signature or monogram, since according to Papashvily, "the signature lies in the work of art itself, and, with time, signatures and other identifying signs and symbols are of little consequence."
