Bushong Mill & Confluence
Bushong Mill - Near it's confluence with the Schuykill River, the Tulpehocken Creek rushes over a picturesque curving dam beside some very intriguing industrial machinery. This is the site of the former Bushong Paper Mill. A popular fishing spot, the area around the dam is rich in canal and industrial history, but it's also a beautiful place for bird-watching, contemplation, and exploring. To reach Bushong Mill, start at the County Park's Stonecliff recreation area, and follow the hard surfaced trail leading under the railroad bridge. Explore a little further, and you can "discover" the Tully's beautiful wooded confluence with the Schuylkill.
