The GiggleWorks at Palmer will be the first large-scale children's museum in Berks County. It will be a self-sustaining destination in touch with and serving local neighborhoods, all Berks residents, and outside visitors.
The museum will be designed to foster a life-long love of learning in children 12 and younger by encouraging creative play, building on natural curiosity, and stimulating problem solving skillls.
The GiggleWorks' motto will be "Shhh, don't tell them they're learning."
R.M. Palmer Company donated a two-story brick building in West Reading
for the museum in December 2007. It is hoped that the museum will open
in December 2008; however, the building must undergo renovations before exhibit construction can begin.
The museum project team is seeking advice and ideas from children,
parents, educators, and others in the community about what this museum should offer. Have ideas for the GiggleWorks? Please contact us. You may now call the GiggleWorks direct at 610-898-1388.
